Big Meetup: How to build the Future Quantum Workforce?

Big Meetup The future quantum workforce April 6 2022

Two times a year Quantum.Amsterdam organises the Big Meetup. This time four speakers will give special attention to Quantum Education. Each speaker with his or her own expertise, varying from high school education, towards MSc programs and courses for business, will give answer to the question: “How to build the Future Quantum Workforce?”

Speakers

Hosts: Marten Teitsma (Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences & Quantum.Amsterdam) & Yvonne Smit (QuSoft & Quantum.Amsterdam)

This big meetup event will be live on location (Startup Village, Amsterdam Science Park) with a lot of interaction and a chance for the audience to ask questions about the topic. Afterwards, there is the opportunity to stay for drinks and network with all participants. Please, make sure to register for the event.

Part 9: Why we need error correction

For serious quantum computing, we need to dramatically reduce the likelihood of error of each elementary step – not just a little bit, but by a factor of millions. With several recent breakthrough, this is the right time to understand the importance of error correction.

Part 4: The applications of quantum networks

If we’re building computers that deal with qubits, superposition and entanglement, wouldn’t these computers also need some way to send qubits to each other? This is the dream of the quantum internet: a network that exchanges quantum-mechanical photons between devices all around the world, parallel to our well-known ‘classical’ internet.
